The last seal is important.
The glue that closes the package does not touch the pad. But it touches the customer's first impression. Our hot melt edgebanding is for single-wrap packaging. Also for side sealing and tail sealing. It must seal tight. But it must also open easy. That is the balance. Our glue keeps the package closed during shipping, storage, and drops. No opening. No bursting. But when the user opens it, it tears open with one pull. In our tests, the film does not stretch. The seal has no strings. No residue. The film stays clean.
Controlling the peel force is key.
We use an SIS or SBS base. We adjust the type and amount of tackifying resins. We add a special peel force regulator. That gives a low to medium-low bond strength. The glue works at a lower temperature of 130-150°C. That allows fast setting. It also protects thin packaging films from heat damage. At 150°C, the melt viscosity is 2000-4000 mPa·s. That allows for precise dot or line coating on fast packing lines. No stringing. No tailing.
We test for real shipping conditions.
The heat seal strength is 3-8 N/15mm. It can be adjusted for different films. It passes the ISTA 1A drop test.
