Most glues block water.
Think about it. Normal glue is water-repellent. It creates a barrier. Liquid sits on top. That is bad for pads. Our water soluble hot melt adhesive is different. It goes through special treatment. It becomes water-loving. It acts like an invisible water channel. It bonds the top sheet and acquisition layer. At the same time, it pulls fluid down fast into the core. In our customer tests, the top sheet stays dry. No pooling. No wet back. A lot of customers ask us, "How do I make my pads absorb faster?" This is the answer.

How do we make glue water-loving?
We start with an SIS or SEBS base. Then we add polar hydrophilic groups to the molecular chain. Or we add non-migrating hydrophilic surfactants. This changes the glue from water-repellent to water-loving. And it stays that way. It does not lose the property over time. The glue works at 140-160°C. At 150°C, the melt viscosity is 2000-4000 mPa·s. That gives good flow. It is perfect for spiral spray, fiber spray, and dot spray. These methods create fine glue nets that do not block liquid flow.

In our tests, nonwoven with this glue has 30% faster liquid penetration. Wet back is reduced by over 50%.

Normal glue has a contact angle over 90 degrees. Ours is under 60. That is real hydrophilicity. No migration. No stickiness on the top surface. No blocking of SAP. That is our water soluble hot melt adhesive.
